This midcentury modern house was renovated by SCOTT + CORMIA – Architecture in collaboration with John McClain Design, located in College Park, a vibrant neighborhood just outside of downtown Orlando, Florida. The homeowner is also the architect of this project, collaborating with the team to bring his vision to life.

The dwelling was stripped down to the essential mid-century bones and rebuilt to meet the lifestyle needs of the owner while modernizing it to today’s living. This home had an abundance of character but was in dire need of updates. The project team was very particular to pay homage to its rooms while infusing plenty of contemporary features. Above: A custom sofa was designed for this space that was deeper and plusher than most mid-century styles and includes a built-in console table. The built-in on the right side of this space was original to the home. The coffee table was sourced from SUNPAN
Furniture, while the chair is from Four Hands Furniture.

Above: This renovation project was very lake-oriented, with almost every room featuring a water view, including this primary bedroom. The furnishings in this sitting area are from Nuevo Living.

Above: This main bathroom is both functional and beautiful. Here, the designer opted to change things up a bit. Instead of designing your typical height vanity area (it is typically lower in height), they kept all the countertops at one level and used an adjustable chair for the vanity area.
