Animal Crossing Player Hides Secret Superhero Fortress In Home Design

An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player managed to hide a secret superhero fortress in their character’s cleverly mapped out home design.

While building out their villager’s detailed home design, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player also snuck in a superhero secret lair. ACNH’s incredible customization tools allows players to craft nearly any kind of build their creative minds can conjure. Since the title’s launch roughly two years ago, users have designed everything from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule Castle to Resident Evil’s Raccoon City Police Department.

The advent of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise DLC in November 2021 elevated the customization possibilities further still. Notably, the paid expansion tasks players with joining Lottie’s Paradise Planning Team to help islanders at a resort build their ideal vacation homes. Thus far, the Paradise Planning Team’s clients have received brilliant restaurants, high-tech laboratories, fun-filled arcades, cafés, and even gyms. One fan even modeled villager Eugene’s vacation home after Frasier’s iconic Seattle,Washington apartment. But how many islanders in New Horizons can lay claim to their very own secret fortress?

Earlier this week, Reddit user patchuki shared gameplay footage of their inventive home design in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But what looks like an average, everyday apartment actually hides a secret – a superhero fortress tucked behind a villager’s kitchen wall. The overall design has somewhat of a Batcave quality to it, given the computer setup, extra databanks, and green T-Rex floating in a tank of bubbly liquid. Whether or not the villager is a superhero themselves or some vigilante’s person in the chair remains unknown. Whatever the case, patchuki shared the design code in the following post for others to enjoy as well:

While superhero-inspired designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are nothing new, this particular build certainly seems as though it could stand in a league of its own. The attention to detail especially warrants high praise, proving, yet again, that New Horizons’ baked-in creation tools allow for a wide range of creative possibilities.

Nintendo shipped Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March 2020 to widespread acclaim from critics and players alike. The social simulation title quickly obtained commercial success as well, securing itself a place on best-seller charts for several months on end. Impressively, as of this past February, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive experience has sold more than 37 million units worldwide. It should come as no surprise, then, that ACHN counts as the second best-selling Switch game to date, trailing behind 2017’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which sits at more than 43 million copies sold.
